Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 in an Olympic contest. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. Her first competition was in the national junior championships in which she was 13th place in 1969. In the year 1970, she won. The first time she competed in an international meet, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975 she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver in her first international competition for seniors, held in 1975. This was the first time she had competed as a senior. The first female to ever successfully complete a backwards double salto while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years, when she performed as a figure skating duo with her sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in the world of entertainment as a teen. She started her career performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment shows Ice Capades. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
