Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet vulnerable characters, is one of the most acclaimed American actors of today. She was raised by a single, unmarried mother who worked as a nursing assistant. Her interest with theatre in summers spent with her famous father. She studied acting in Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. When she graduated at Brown University she began making her Broadway debut in the following year. Within two years of this, her first feature film came out and the following year, her debut on television. Since then, she's appeared in countless films and TV and stage productions. Over the course of her career, she won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards. However, in spite of all the awards she has received, theatre has remained her passion first and foremost. She has continued to appear both on screen and on stage.
